About this team, “Gazeta” wrote on August 25. Recall: the story began with a photograph. It shows a ten mandolin orchestra, led by conductor. This pre-war Orchestra of Ger. In addition mandolinistami team also played bass (you can see it with great bass balalaika), and two guitarists. One of them emigrated to Palestine in 1935, guitarist Avner Yonai grandson saw this photo for the first time in Mount Calvary. He came to her in 2007 from San Francisco to look for traces of the family murdered in the Holocaust. The picture was the album that survivors of the extermination of the Jews of Ger released in Argentina. - The photo shows the frozen reality. I felt that I wanted to unfreeze it and resurrect to life – says Avner Yonai. The purpose of his mission was to commemorate the Jewish communities of Ger and his family. The orchestra was not only his grandfather, but also his two brothers – conductor and mandolinist.
